It is with great sadness that the family of N. Joan Gwinn announces her passing on Monday, November 27, 2023, after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Joan will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Debbie Gwinn of Charlottesville, VA and Pam Bowen of White Sulphur Springs, WV, sisters, Mary Alice Buffo, Linda Fernandez (Wayne) Martha Mazey (Larry); sister-in-law, Carol Webb, niece, Sharon Zimmerman, brothers in law, Glenville Gwinn (Mildred) and Leo Gwinn (Darlene), her grandchildren namely, Wannis Bowen III (Heather) and Malary Bowen (Nathan) were her pride and joy. Her great grandchildren, Gavin Craft, JoElla Craft, Miriam Bowen, Keats Bowen, were equally as precious to her. She also had many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Leslie Gwinn; parents, Andrew, and Nan Webb; brother Andy Webb; son in law, Rick Bowen; granddaughter, Ella Jo Bowen and great grandson, Liam Craft.
Joan was a Christian woman who was devoted to her church and family. She was employed as a secretary for the Greenbrier County school system for over thirty years before her retirement in 1997. She took pride in her home and her hands were never idle.
The family wish to express their gratitude and love to Seneca Trail Healthcare Center for the loving care they provided Joan during her seven-year residency. “There are truly angels among us.”
Joan will be laid to rest on Friday, December 1, 2023. Funeral services will be held at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV at 1:00 PM, Friday December 1, 2023. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in the Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, WV.
