Nellie Gray Haynes

RENICK, WV – Nellie Gray Haynes, 98 of Renick, WV passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg.  Bron April 25, 1923, in Monroe County, WV she was the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Biddie Moss Morris. Nellie worked at Burlington Mills in White Sulphur Springs for twenty-four years as a weaver. She also worked at T.H. Brown Co. and the General Lewis Inn.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four husbands, Denvin Haynes, Sam Mason, Wilbur Huffman, and Wilmer Sites, seven brothers, Thurmond, Talbert, Gordon, Odell, Roscoe Kelly, Marshall, and Monroe “Buck” Morris, four sisters, Pearl Benton, Pauline Paxton, Bessie Bland, and Frances Hunter.

Survivors include her daughter Patricia “Pat” Sheets (Jon Dale) of Renick, with whom she made her home, one brother, Bert Morris (Elaine) of Dandridge, TN and a sister-in-law, Velma Brackenrich, grandchildren, John Dale Sheets, Jr. (Jennifer, Angela Sheets and Melody Sheppard (Dana), great grandchildren, Blair Garrettson (Court), Jacob Sheppard (Bree), Kinsey Sheets (Jordan), Sidney Sheets and Cierra Sheppard, great-great grandchildren, Adrianna, Amelia, Luke, and Olyvia.

Graveside Service will be 5:00 PM, Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Joe Hendricks officiating. There will be no visitation.
