FORT SPRING, WV – Patsie Grace Burns Thompson, 81 of Fort Spring, WV passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Born December 24, 1941, in Fort Spring, WV she was the daughter of the late Elmer William and Pauline Virginia Bostic Burns. Patsie was a member of the Fort Spring Missionary Baptist Church. She had worked for many years for Home Care Plus and loved her job. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Lee Thompson, brother, William Burns Jr., sisters, Geraldine Terry, Viola Burns, and Marlene Pitsenbarger, great grandson, Ezra Thompson, granddaughter, Mary Beth Thompson and son in law, Ray Pittman.
Survivors include her daughters, Penny Dolan (Eddie) of Grottoes, VA, Paula Hudson (Roger) of Newton, WV, and Peggy Pittman (Joe Johnson) of Alderson, WV, stepson, Mike Thompson of Ronceverte, WV, grandchildren, Nikki Carter, Adam Dolan, Courtney Brown, Megan Morris, Frankie Melara, Katie Windon, Joseph Thompson, Thomas Pittman, Hunter Pittman, Erica Young, Roger Lee Hudson, Jason and Jesse Hudson, her extended church family and many friends, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Patsie’s life will be at 4:00 PM, Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the Fort Spring Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Private graveside service will be held in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Fort Spring, WV with Pastor Joey Morgan officiating. Online guestbook can be signed at www.morganfh.net.
