Paul Edward Simms, Sr.

Paul Edward Simms, Sr. 70, of Lewisburg passed away on July 16, 2014 after an extended illness. Born August 23, 1943, he was the son of the late Russell Simms and Mary Simms and was preceded in death by his brothers Elmo, James, Ralph, and Bernard Simms; and sister Helen Mead. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for a number of years and also attended services at Shuck Memorial in Lewisburg. Paul had a love for animals, spending time outdoors, hunting ginseng, and painting. Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters Ida Synowski, Juanita Hundley and husband Delbert, Laura Brown and husband Allen; brother Roy Simms and wife Lola; his children, Margaret Simms Kirk and husband Steve, Rebecca Simms and James Hunter, Paul Simms, Jr. and wife Dana, Misty Simms Brown and husband Shawn; grandchildren Claire McCoy, Danielle and Hailey Kirk, Bryce Church, Devin Simms, Ethan Phillips, Anna Simms and Piper Brown. Services will be 9:00 AM Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, with Pastor Bryan Baker officiating. He will be laid to rest at Richardson Family Cemetery on Bennett Mountain. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, July 18, 2014, at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Pallbearers will be Steve Kirk, Larry Anderson, James Hunter, Shawn Brown, Justin Palmer, and Douglas Baker.
