Quena Pearl Zicafoose, 96, passed away on Monday December 12, 2016 at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center after a long illness. She was a resident of the Brier at Ronceverte.Born January 12, 1920 in Laurel County, KY she was the daughter of the late Oakley and Nora Bryant Black.Quena always enjoyed gardening, quilting, and crocheting.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George Lewis Zicafoose and Nelson Dana Zicafoose; brothers, Gilbert Black and Morris Black; and sisters, Glenna Arnold and Mildred Harville.Quena is survived by a daughter, Freda Zicafoose of Asbury ; a son, Rodger Zicafoose of Jacksons Gap, Alabama; grandchildren, David Zicafoose and wife, Mendy of Temple, GA, Heather Murry and husband, Tom of Philadelphia, PA, and Sgt. Christopher Traxler and wife, Ashley of Ft. Gordon, GA; great grandchildren, Jessee Lee Zicafoose and Lacey Zicafoose both of Georgia, Piper Elliot Murray and Alexander Thomas Murray both of Philadelphia, PA; her only surviving brother, Guy Black and wife, Peggy of London, KY and many nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank Dorothy Crites, her caregiver, who spent many hours with her over the last four years; and also, the staff at the Brier.Services will be 11:00Am Friday December 16, 2016 at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Rev. Ron Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends and family 6:00-8:00PM on Thursday December 15, 2016 at the funeral home.Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
