Rebecca Lynn “Becky” Evans, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 60 on April 10, 2026, at the Lewisburg Healthcare Center in Ronceverte, West Virginia. Born on December 2, 1965, in Baltimore City, Maryland, Rebecca lived a life marked by fierce determination and a spirited heart that touched all who knew her.
Becky was the only girl among six brothers, a dynamic that shaped her into a feisty competitor from an early age. Her brothers—Mike Evans (Dianna), Wayne Evans, David Evans (Kathy), Jeff Evans, and Richie Evans—cherished their sister’s indomitable spirit, which was a source of strength and camaraderie throughout their lives. She was predeceased by her parents, Lewis and Joyce Evans, as well as her brother Timothy Evans.
Her career was defined by dedication and adaptability. Becky began as a skilled seamstress at Kellwood, where her meticulous attention to detail became evident. Later, she transitioned to working in security at Goodrich, further demonstrating her commitment and reliability. Beyond her professional endeavors, Becky found joy in the simpler pleasures of life, including her love for the Pittsburgh Steelers, watching Rusty Wallace races, and cheering on the West Virginia University Mountaineers.
Becky’s passion extended into the world of softball, where she not only enjoyed playing but also gave back as a coach, sharing her competitive spirit and love for the game with others. Friends and family will fondly remember her as a woman set firmly in her ways, steadfast and unyielding, yet possessing a warmth and loyalty that endeared her to many.
Surviving Becky is her devoted daughter, Samantha Smith, and son-in-law Matthew Smith, along with her cherished grandchildren, Trenton and Whitley Smith, who brought immeasurable joy to her later years. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who carry forward the Evans family legacy.
Becky’s life will be celebrated with a viewing beginning at 5:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM on April 18, 2026, both held at Morgan Funeral Home, located at 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV 24901. These moments will provide an opportunity for all who loved Rebecca to come together, honor her memory, and reflect on a life well-lived.
Becky leaves behind a legacy of resilience, fierce love, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as one whose competitive spark and loving nature were truly one of a kind.
