Richard Johnston Vance

Richard Johnston Vance 92, of Ronceverte passed away Monday, March 3, 2014. Born August 14, 1921, Richard was the son of the late Ira and Lilly Vance. He was a self employed Logger and a US Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents Richard was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Violet Terry Vance; daughter Dale Perkins; brothers Charley Vance, Walt Vance, Bob Vance, Guy Vance; sister Reva Ward; step-children Jane Lucas, Maratta Richmond, and Wilbur Reed. He is survived by his daughter Dottie Hambrick(Robert) of Ronceverte; brother Gus Vance of Ashtabula, OH; sisters Pearl Morris of Ashtabula, OH, Clara Vance of Ashtabula, OH; granddaughters Patricia Hubbard(Greg), Sandy Lephew(Chuck); step-children Betty Suttle(Bud) of Asbury WV, Edward Reed of Ashtabula OH, John Reed of Caldwell WV; several great grandchildren . Services will be Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Rev. Ralph Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Adwell Cemetery, Ronceverte, WV.
