Roger L. Wriston

LEWISBURG, WV - Roger Loren Wriston, age 78, of Lewisburg, West Virginia, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a life well lived.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Autis and Mary Wriston. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Della Ford Wriston; his loving son, Bryan (Julie) Wriston of Southern Pines, NC; and his granddaughters, Carlie Daniels of Cincinnati, OH, and Sydney Daniels of Virginia Beach, VA and one sister, Kay Lilly of Ghent, WV— all of whom brought him great pride and joy.

Roger was a 1964 graduate of Shady Spring High School and went on to dedicate 47 years of his life to healthcare as a Certified Nurse Anesthetist. He retired from Allegheny Regional Hospital, where he was deeply respected for his expertise and compassionate care.

A man of deep faith, Roger was a faithful member of Zion's Light Baptist Church in Ronceverte, WV.

Outside of his professional and spiritual life, Roger was an avid outdoorsman who found peace and joy in nature. He loved hunting, playing golf, casting a fishing line, and exploring new places through travel. Always one for adventure, he was a certified scuba diver and a licensed private pilot.

Those who knew Roger will remember his warm heart, his quick wit, and the special way he showed love — often through teasing and playful banter. His laughter filled every room, and his presence made every gathering brighter.

He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the lives he touched, and the family who loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held at Zion’s Light Baptist Church in Ronceverte on Friday, June 13th, from 11:00-1:00 with a service immediately following.
