Roy Gerard Garner

RONCEVERTE, WV - Roy Gerard Garner, 98, of Ronceverte, WV passed away, Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. Born August 11, 1918 at Richlands, WV he was the son of the late Chester Arthur and Gladys Erskine Withrow Garner. Roy was retired as Ice Cream Manager from Ronceverte Ice and Produce Company. He was a faithful member of the Ronceverte Baptist Church where he had attended for over 70 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Johnsie Elizabeth Williams Garner and his second wife, Gladys Jackson Garner, an infant daughter Carol Anne Garner, son, Gene Patrick and a brother Henry H. Garner. Survivors include son, William A. Garner of Ronceverte, WV, daughter Mae Beavers of Fairlea, WV, daughter, Mary Alice Dunleavy and husband Tom of Roanoke, VA, son, Jerry Patrick of Caldwell, son, Mitch Patrick and wife Janice of Akron, OH, son, Arthur Erskine and wife Karen of Ronceverte, WV, son Johnny Erskine of Beckley, WV, sister, Rosa Lee Garner of Ronceverte, WV, special nieces, Bobbie Jo Spurlock of Anthony, WV and Teresa Pauley of Princeton, WV a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, special friends, Mary Ellen Morgan of Lewisburg, WV and Jay Walker of Marlinton, WV, several other family and friends.Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Andy Howdock officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg, WV. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until time of the service, Friday at the funeral home.
