Ruby Jean Whanger

CALDWELL, WV – Ruby Jean Defibaugh Whanger, 76, of Caldwell, WV passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Charleston Area Medical Center – Memorial. Born February 7, 1942 at Caldwell, WV she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Margaret Ellen Hylton Defibaugh. She was retired from the Greenbrier County Board of Education as a Bus Driver and was a Beautician. Ruby was a member of the Grace Bible Church at Alta, WV. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jonathan Harvey Whanger in 2016, brother, Robert Defibaugh Jr and sister, Elizabeth Esther Jones. Survivors include two sons, Harvey Whanger and wife Debbie of Caldwell, WV and John Robert Whanger and wife Barbara of Florida, three daughters, Jeanie Crookshanks of Clintonville, WV, Barbara Rush and fiancé Mark Meador of Hinton, WV, Betty Holliday and husband Kelvin of Oak Hill, WV, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three brothers, William Thomas Defibaugh of Caldwell, WV, Jerry Wayne Defibaugh and Richard Defibaugh of Virginia and a sister, Glenna Sams of Virginia, several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel – 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Hat Defibaugh and Pastor Mike Teubert officiating. Burial will follow in the Ketron Cemetery, Ronceverte, WV. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the funeral home.
