Ruth Esther Blake

Ruth Ester Blake passed away on March 27, 2023 due to complications of dementia. She was
83. She was the daughter of the late Linwood and Sadie Beshore of Kingsville Maryland. Ruth
was a graduate of Kenwood High in Baltimore County, class of 58’ and held a degree from
St.John’s College, Winfield Kansas. She was a resident of Frankford WV for the last 12 years.
Ruth taught school in the early 1960’s at Saint Paul’s Lutheran School in Kingsville. After that,
she dedicated herself to creating a home for her family and was an active and valued partner in
her husband’s construction and real estate enterprises. She was a Christian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Linwood and Charles “Chuck” Beshore,
and his young son Charles Jr.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald V. Blake Sr, Frankford WV, daughters
Sonia R. Blake, Lewes, De, and daughter Julie L. Blake and granddaughter Bella Ryan, Forest
Hill Md and son Donald V. Blake Jr, Renick Wv. Ruth has three surviving sisters, Marilyn “May”
Puckey , Beverly Caswell, and Joyce Beshore Schwandtner- Vonderkall, all living in Maryland.
The family is holding a memorial service at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church on Monday
April 17, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg WV is in charge of the
arrangements .
