Sarah Mae Pyles

Maxwelton, WV – Sarah Mae Pennington Pyles, 76 of Maxwelton, WV passed away, Monday, April 15, 2024, at Lewis Gales Hospital, Salem, VA. Born June 9, 1947, in Blackwell, OK she was the daughter of the late Guy and Betty Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Boyd Marvin Pennington and second husband Verle Lee Pyles.  Sarah was a substitute teacher, sold insurance and worked various other jobs.  She was a member of the Edgewood Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and was active with the Presbyterian Women. Sarah was also a member of the Progressive CEOS, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Linda Pennington of Lewisburg, WV, Tony Pennington (Andrea) of White Sulphur Springs, WV and Verle Pyles (Lora) of Alderson, WV, six grandchildren, Chris, Anthony and Derek Pennington, Larry Gabby, and Emily Pyles, brother, James Jones (Beverly) of Given, WV.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kristy Moore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
