Sherrell Spencer

Mrs. Sherrell Spencer, 64, died Thursday, June 6, 2013 in Fayetteville, NC. Sherrell was born Jan. 10, 1949 to Howard and Virginia Gilkerson of Sprague, WV. She grew up in Renick, WV. A Frankford High School graduate, she was active in sports, band, and proudly won first place in the 1966 Greenbrier Valley Majorette Festival. Sherrell was a loving wife to her high school sweetheart Jimmie for over 43 years. She was a beloved mother to Sherry and Donna, and a proud grandmother to Abigail, Faith, Nicholas, Alec, Andrew, and Wyatt. A natural caregiver, Sherrell worked as a nursing assistant for over 32 years. She was a beautiful fun-loving person that touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Sherrell is survived by her husband Jimmie Spencer, Jr. of Frankford, WV; daughter Sherry Palacios of Fayetteville, NC; daughter Donna Spitler of Madison, OH; sister Linda Skinner of San Antonio, TX; sister Joan Kountz of Beaver, WV; sister Connie Walker of Hillsboro, WV; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
