Stephen Elmer Sheppard

LEWISBURG, WV – Stephen Elmer Sheppard, 77 of Lewisburg, WV passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA after a long battle with ALS and Bladder Cancer. Born July 31, 1939 at Richlands, WV he was the son of the late Ira Elmer and Mildred Estella Morgan Sheppard. Steve had worked for the Bartlett Tree Company, the Chapman Tree Company, Jackson’s Dairy Farm and lastly, he cleaned and maintained several physician offices in the area. He was a member of the Lewisburg Church of Christ. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Sylvia Mae Wickline-Sheppard, daughter, Belinda (Sam) Sheppard-Weikle of Fraziers Bottom, WV, brothers, Allen (Charlotte) Sheppard of Lewisburg, WV and Melvin Sheppard of Lewisburg, WV, sisters, Barbara (Earl) Crane of Frankford, WV and Mary (Andy) Morgan of Ronceverte, WV, grandchildren, Austin, Mackenzie and Cassandra Weikle, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Lewisburg Church of Christ with Pastor Adam Blaney officiating. Burial will follow in the Windy Knoll Cemetery, Williamsburg, WV. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Morgan Funeral Home, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations of sympathy be made to his daughter, Belinda Sheppard-Weikle, 4549 Barton Chapel Road, Fraziers Bottom, WV 25082 to help with the final expenses.
