Talmadge O. Murray, age 91, of Lewisburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 11, 2014. Born September 27, 1922 in Highsplint, KY, he was the son of the late Carl Clifford and Bessie Kidwell Murray. Mr. Murray was a World War II veteran who served in the US Marines as an airplane mechanic. In March 1987, he retired from Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill where he worked as the hospital's chief engineer. A member of the Greenbrier Valley Baptist Church, he loved his church family. He loved to garden, hunt and fish; enjoying life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lelia Jessup Murray; a daughter, Karla Y. Murray; grandson, Michael D. Murray; two brothers, Malcolm Murray and Carl C. Murray Jr; and two sisters, Irene Carter and Kathleen Jessup. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 38 years, Judith Nugen Murray; two daughters, Violet Wilson of Baton Rouge, LA, Rita Trent and husband, Randall of Crab Orchard; two sons, Timothy Murray and wife, Kathy of Oak Hill and Carl Murray and wife, Joanna of Oak Hill; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Cleitus Murray and wife, Margaret, Edward Murray and wife, Blanche; sister, Aileen Foley plus many nieces and nephews.Service:1:00 PM FridayApril 18, 2014Morgan Funeral HomeVisitation:6:30 to 8:30 PM ThursdayApril 17, 2014and 1 hour prior to funeralMorgan Funeral Home
