Tara Morgan Woody

Tara Lee Morgan Woody, age 43, of Lewisburg, passed away on June 26, 2025, after a 25-year battle with addiction.

Tara is survived by her daughter, Heidi; her father, Henry Morgan and his wife Shawna of Craigsville; her mother, Suzy Morgan and her partner Bill Fox of Lewisburg; her sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Adam Martin of Atlanta, GA; her niece, Stevie Loudermilk of Greenville, NC; and her nephews, Logan Hosey of Maxwelton and Greyson Hosey of Fairlea.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Reba; and her grandparents, Benny and Gaye Morgan, and Jimmy and Naomi Johnson.

Tara’s struggle with addiction began when she was 18 years old. Despite countless attempts to overcome it, she battled tirelessly to be a better mother, daughter, and friend. Her family mourns not only her passing but also the years lost during her lifetime—and the moments they will now never share.

Tara’s greatest legacy is her beloved daughter, Heidi.
