Teddy Hanson

Lewisburg, WV – Theodore Dale “Teddy” Hanson, 78 of Lewisburg, WV passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020 at his home. Born March 11, 1942 at Clintonville, WV he was the son of the late Slater Wilson and Winona Maye Kelley Hanson. Teddy was in the National Guard for eight years. He was a member of the Lewisburg Baptist Church and the Maxwelton Ruritan Club. He enjoyed gardening and hunting. Teddy loved coaching his grandsons in basketball and baseball. He was retired from the USDA as a Soil Conservation Technician. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherman and Gene Hanson and a sister Carol Ann Bostic. Survivors include his loving devoted wife of fifty-three years, Mary Ruth Keene Hanson, daughter, Darla Beane (Jeff) of Lewisburg, WV, sister, Sue James (Charlie) of Roanoke, VA, grandchildren, Isaac, Austin and Lauren Beane all of Lewisburg, WV, several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Jonathan Comer officiating. Pallbearers will be Kevin, Tim, Lloyd and Ben Anderson, Chris Hanson and Donnie Hedrick. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations of sympathy be made to the Lewisburg Baptist Academy Athletic Fund, 246 Grand Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
