RENICK, WV – Thelma Jean Ayers Hanson, 80, of Renick, WV passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018. Born March 4, 1938 at Frankford, WV she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Crawford and Hava Ozella Bowes Spencer. Thelma was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest Pete Spencer and Jesse Frank Spencer and two sisters, Hazel Reynolds and Grace Hefner. Survivors include son, Jeff Ayers (Debbie) of Lewisburg, WV, daughter, Melissa Brown (Andy) of Renick, WV, grandchildren, Stephanie Raznick, Amanda Hurley (Orville), Robert West and Chance West, great grandchildren, Kyra and Talia, brothers, Ernest, Lamor, Clifton, Earl and Carl Spencer and sisters, Carol Spencer and Alma McMillion. Special thanks to her angel caregiver, Ashley Nicole Fisher.
Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Renick, WV. Online guestbook can be signed at
