Trudy Hammons

RENICK, WV – Mildred Trudy Hammons, 72, of Renick, WV passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her home following an extended illness. Born November 28, 1944 at Renick, WV she was the daughter of the late Melvin Troy and Esther Evelyn Harford Hammons. Trudy was retired from Seneca Mental Health. She was a member of the Peaceful Valley Assembly of God. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Steve Burdette. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Ray Burdette and wife Michele of Ohio, daughters, Anna Burdette of California and Terry Cook of Alderson, WV, a grandson whom she raised, Eric Steven Burdette of Ohio, brothers, Gerald Hammons and wife Mary Nancy of Frankford, WV, John Hammons of Renick, WV and Mason Hammons and wife Rosemary of Clendenin, WV, sisters, Nancy Moore and husband Bob of Pinch, WV and Mary Carpenter and husband Skeeter of Alderson, WV, sixteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Woodland Church, Auto, WV with Pastor John Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery, Auto, WV.
