ASBURY, WV – Truman Lee Cook, 81, of Asbury, WV passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Raleigh General Hospital. Born March 3, 1937 at Glen Morris, WV he was the son of the late James R. and Alta May Adkins Cook. Truman retired as a Coal Miner from Eastern Coal after over thirty years of service. He was a member of the UMWA. He is survived by daughters, Betty Pack (Ronnie) of Beckley, WV, Sherry Cook of California, Sandy Persinger of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Susan Slade (Phil) of Ronceverte, WV and Valerie “Shawn” Blankenship (Rick) of Kopperston, WV, brothers, James Cook (Ellie) and Kenneth Cook (Kathy), sisters, Trilla Morgan, Georgia King (Charles), Justine Accord, Mary Woods, Carolyn Reid (Gene), Pamela Coleman (Ron) and Brenda Marshall, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and his former spouse, Mabel Cook. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel – 252 Montvue Drive – Lewisburg, WV. Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, WV.
