Velma Rudd Lewis, 79, of Salisbury, NC passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the home of her granddaughter, Dionne Dunlap in Linwood, NC. Born July 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Eskell Lewis Rudd and in addition to her parents was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lewis; son, Carl Edward Smith; daughter, Peggy Jane Hill and brothers, Lawrence, Vaughn, Summers, and Vernon Rudd. She is survived by her daughter, Louise Jacobs and husband, Mike of Salisbury, NC; sons, Charles Smith of Marlinton and Jimmy Lee "George" Smith and wife Brenda of Buckeye; six grandchildren, Chuck Smith, Dionne Dunlap, Jeremiah Smith, Josh Smith, Crystal Smith and Brandon Smith and eight great- grandchildren; three step children, Daniel Lewis of Linwood, NC, Donnie Lewis of Renick and Deborah Lynn Pritt and husband, Michael; two step grandchildren, Stephanie Lewis and Michael Pritt, Jr.; four step great grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Keene of Renick, Faye Tuncalp of Palm Springs, CA and Frances Kerns of Hillsboro and five brothers, Darrell Rudd of Linwood, NC, Delbert "Tim" Rudd of Hillsboro, Dallas Rudd of Marlinton, Harold Rudd of Reno, NV and Douglas Rudd of Leavenworth, WA. Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Rev. Rick Keener officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharp Cemetery at Millpoint.
