Verlin "Bub" Arnett Blankenship

Verlin "Bub" Blankenship, 48, of Rupert, WV, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, peacefully in his sleep. Born November 13, 1965, 1943, he was the son of the late Berlin Blankship and Brenda Goins. Bub Blankenship spent most of his adult life working in the service industry at the Greenbrier Hotel until he became to ill to work. The fact that he worked in the service industry is no surprise to anyone who knew him. Bub loved helping people and would do anything, even for someone he just met. He spent his life enjoying his children and being a Pawpaw to his grandchildren. You could search high and low and never find a man more dedicated to his kids or one that loved spending time with his grandkids more than Bub. They were the light of his life and he made sure that no kids anywhere ever felt more loved than his grandbabies. There will be a void in the life and hearts of his family that can never be filled again, because Bub Blankenship was one of a kind. Bub is survived by his beloved mother, Brenda Blankenship Goins and her husband Steve Goins; three children, Bradley Blankenship and his wife Emily, Mariah Blankenship and her husband Leonard, and Makenzie Blankenship; three grandchildren, Gaige, Paislee, and Mason; and a very special girl to him, Maddie Harlow; his brother Frank Blankenship; sisters, Faye Alma and husband Louis, and Paula Blankenship and husband Marcos Ortiz; as well as two very special friends, JD and Amanda Cales. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents Julian Simmons and wife Myrtle, George Blankenship and wife Murley. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:30pm on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Morgan's Funeral home in Lewisburg, WV, with a Memorial Service starting at 7:30, with Pastor G.R.
