Virginia Lorel Hull, of Alvon, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. She was born June 3, 1926, in Caldwell, to the late Clyde and Lillian Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Edgar Hull on January 22, 2013; and her brother Carol Williams. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Gum(Clyde Jr.), of Sweet Springs, WV, Debbie Childers(David), of Alvon, WV, and three granddaughters; Amanda Gum of Beckley, Becky Clendenin(Jonas) of Alvon, and Jenny Childers of Alvon; her only grandson Adam Gum from Princeton; and her first great granddaughter whom she referred to as her "Baby Doll", Emily Clendenin; one sister, Wanda Loudermilk of Caldwell; and one brother, Ashby Williams of Caldwell; several nephews and nieces; special friends, Dorothy Shinaberry from Alvon, and Nancy Kaptis from Florida; caregivers, Linda Dean and family, and Susan Noble. Virginia's church friends were very dear to her. She was a member of Alvon United Methodist Church. Services will be held Saturday August 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Alvon United Methodist Church, with Rev. Gerald Roberts, Rev. Buck Caldwell, and Rev. Bobby McClintic officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in Alvon United Methodist Cemetery.
