Wayne Gail Smith

Wayne Gail Smith, of Ronceverte 75, passed away February 3, 2014 peacefully in his sleep at home. He was born November 2, 1938 in Crichton WV. He was preceded in death by his parents Gail Smith and Dama Smith Whitt, and his sister Patsy Legg. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary Smith of Ronceverte; his children Christine Guettler(Mark) of Brown Summitt, Gibsonville, NC, Susan Smith- Linton(Chris) of Ronceverte WV; Elizabeth Smith of Ronceverte WV; Christopher Smith(Lisa) of Bridgeport, WV; his grandchildren Brandius Smith, of NC; Amber Dorsey, of Lewisburg, WV; Brianna McClung, of Columbus OH, Steven Smith of Ronceverte, WV; Sierra Smith of Bridgeport WV; Christa Smith of Bridgeport, WV; Coy Linton of Ronceverte WV; his great grandchildren; Jaden Dorsey of Lewisburg, WV; Grayson Smith of Gibsonville, NC; and Gavin Satterwhite of Lewisburg, WV; his brother Gary Smith(Jean) of Crawley, WV; his sister Joan Paitsel(Edward) of Pilot Mountain, NC. Wayne was on the Admiral's Staff Comcrudesflot Two of the U.S. Navy; he was a member of Ronceverte Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Wayne's biggest pleasure in life was spending time with his family and grandchildren. Services will be Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Ronceverte Baptist Church in Ronceverte with Pastor Andy Howdock officiating. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Mausoleum.
