Wilbur Vivian Ayers Jr.

NEOLA, WV – Wilbur V. “Buck” Ayers Jr., 77, of Neola, WV passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg, WV.  Born March 2, 1944, in Cabin Creek, WV he was the son of the late Wilbur V. Ayers Sr. and Opal Lucille Golf Ayers. Buck was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a faithful member of the Neola Baptist Church.  He was a former Coal Miner, Truck Driver and had also worked for Southern Maryland Cable where he installed underground cable.  He loved flowers, wood burning, piddling, making things and playing chess.  Being with his family was his favorite pastime.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Ayers and sisters, Sherry Harrison, and Gale Ayers.  Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley L. Ayers, daughters, Misty Jo Bateman (Jimmy) and Mindy Jo Blado (David) all of Mechanicsville, MD, brothers, Charles Ayers (Maryanne) of Port Tobacco, MD, and Rex Ayers Sr (Carolyn) of Mechanicsville, MD, sisters, Kay Cantrell of Chaptico, MD, Deanna Welch of Louisa, VA and Rita Cusick (Wayne) of La Plata, MD, grandchildren, Aeric O’Neil, Logan Blado, Cierra Roulette (Kyle) and Skye Blado, one great grandchild, Kyle Roulette.
