William Arthur Garner

RONCEVERTE, WV – William Arthur Garner, 80 of Ronceverte, WV a beautiful soul winged its way to heaven the morning of March 7, 2024. Born November 26, 1943, in Ronceverte, WV he was the son of the late Roy and Johnsie Williams Garner. Bill graduated from Greenbrier High School. He then attended Marshall University before relocating to Washington DC. He returned to Ronceverte in 1970 to help his father care for his ailing mother.  Bill resided with his father until his passing in 2017. In 1971 Bill began working at the Greenbrier Hotel initially on the reception desk then helped start the IT Department, where he finished his tenure after forty-seven years of service.

Bill leaves his husband and partner, F. Jay Walker, his devoted best friend, Mary Ellen Morgan, aunt, Rosa Lee Garner. His extensive cousins and extended family from another mother, Gladys Erskine Garner, Mae Beavers, Mary Dunleavy, Jerry Patrick, Mitch Patrick, Gene Patrick, Arthur Erskine, and Johnny Erskine.  He was a kind, beautiful man, and friend to all he met and blessed all.  He will be missed.

Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Greg Scott officiating. There will be no visitation. Online guestbook can be signed at www.morganfh.net. Arrangements by Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
