FRANKFORD, WV – William R. “Shorty” Clevenger, 62, of Frankford, WV, passed away at home surrounded by family on March 14, 2024. Born September 24, 1961, in White Sulphur Springs, he was the son of the late George Sr. and Velma Clevenger. Including his parents, Shorty, was preceded in death by, Sisters; Janet Fogus and Mary Robinson, also, a special brother Dave Joyce. William served in the US Army obtaining the rank of SP4, being awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, the Expert Rifle M-16 Medal, and Expert Hand Grenade Medal. He was stationed in Germany. Shorty was a painter by trade. He was also known for his wonderful talking skills. William is survived by; Brothers, Austin Clevenger (Sharon) of Renick, George Clevenger (Sharon) Central, SC, Gary Clevenger (Carolyn) of Renick, and Larry Clevenger (Melissa) of Sweet Springs; Sisters, Gloria Morrison (Jim) of Frankford, Betty Morrison (Roger) of Droop Mountain, Christina Lewis (Jimmy) of Frankford, Rose Poole (Tom) of Clinton Arkansas; Special Brothers, Billy McMillion, and Charlie Lewis. Also, too many Nieces and Nephews to mention, but he loved them all. The family would like to thank cousin and caregiver Joanne Hale, Cecil, Beth, and Travis Mullins. Also, Kanawha Hospice of WV, and Nurse Shauna who was considered family to Shorty. Memorial service will be 5:00 PM, March 17, 2024, at the Renick Community Center. The family requests everyone to bring a covered dish. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Funeral Home. There will be another Memorial planned this coming summer.
