Zackie Dennis Mitchell

Zackie Dennis Mitchell, 72, of Bridgewater, VA, formerly of Renick passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. Born March 27, 1940 in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles Edward and Velva Gladys Hedrick Mitchell and in addition to his parents was preceeded in death by his wife of 43 years Charlotte Dale Cox Mitchell. Zackie served in the US Army Reserve from 1957 to 1961 and was a retired Roofer. He is survived by his four children, Dennis Mitchell and wife, Karen of Stanton, MI, Louisa Rivera of Swoope, VA, Nioka Breeden and husband, Darrell of Staunton, VA and Gladys Rawlings and husband, Gary of Elkridge, MD; six grandchildren, Howard Weikle, Michael Weikle, Jacob Delano, Cody Delano, John Delano and Skylar Breeden; great grandchild, Aiden Weikle; three brothers, Walter Mitchell and wife, Betty of Maryland, Willard Mitchell of Williamsburg and Clarence Mitchell and wife, Ruby of Bridgewater, VA and sisters, Laura Rose and husband, Jim of Friars Hill and Helen Wollusk and husband, Lutz of Spokane, WA. Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg with burial to follow in Windy Knoll Cemetery at Williamsburg.
