Zelda Leona Kershner, 97, of Renick passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea. Born April 11, 1918 at Lobelia, she was the daughter of the late Remus and Blanche Brown Holmes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stoner Kershner; daughter, Catherine Gillilan and grandson, Kristopher Blaine Kershner. She attended Renick High School and was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College (1942) and was a member of their Emeritus Club. She taught in one and two room schools at the beginning of her teaching career and went on to retire from Renick Junior High in 1978. She was a dedicated teacher in Greenbrier County for 33 years. She was a life member of WV Association of Retired Teachers and was also president of Renick Satelite for many years. She was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and served as Sunday school teacher, on various committees and was a delegate to the annual conference. She was a great role model for her family, was dearly loved and will be sadly missed. Mrs. Kershner is survived by her daughter Kay Reynolds and husband, Calvin of Frankford; son, Bruce Kershner and wife, Linda of Gordonsville, VA; grandchildren, Kenneth Bruce Kershner II, Karrington Beth Meeks, David Allen Reynolds, Jason Burdette Reynolds, Lora Melissa Reynolds, Kristen Elaine Gunter and John Allen Gillilan; and great grandchildren, Kara Brynne Kershner, Kameron Blaine Kershner, Kristopher Brayden Meeks, Ryan Andrew Reynolds and Nathan Layne Reynolds.
