Zula Anne Dooley

Zula Anne Dooley passed away on October 3, 2026. She was born January 1, 1950 to the late Zula Josephine Darlington and William Augustus Newell.

Zula will be remembered as a hard worker who found joy in the simple and caring parts of life. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and taking care of her animals. Those who knew her will remember a woman who gave her time and energy to the things and people she cared about.

Family was an important part of Zula’s life. She is survived by her son, William Oswald, and his wife, Samantha, of Morehead, Kentucky. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: William Oswald Jr. of Missouri, Chris Oswald of West Liberty, Kentucky, Heaven Phipps and her husband, Jordan, of West Liberty, Kentucky, Katelyn Oswald of Morehead, Kentucky, Autumn Young of West Liberty, Kentucky, and Brooklynn Young of Menifee, Kentucky. Her memory will also be carried on by her great-grandchildren, Malakai Oswald of West Liberty, Kentucky, Scarlett Phipps of West Liberty, Kentucky, Bohdi Oswald of Missouri, and Skylar Oswald of Missouri. They, along with all who loved her, will hold close the memories they shared with her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sons, Keith Workman and Bobby Gunn, both of West Virginia; and her grandson, Thomas Oswald of Missouri.

Zula Anne Dooley will be remembered with love by her family and friends, and her life will remain a cherished part of those who knew her.
