James "Richie" Holliday II CFSP CCO

Owner-Director & Embalmer/Licensee in Charge

Richie purchased the Morgan Funeral Home in February 2017. Richie is a 2008 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science with a Bachelor of Mortuary Science Degree. Richie maintained a 3.0 grade average throughout his educational studies at the school. During his tenure in Cincinnati, he traveled to Springfield, MO, to attend the Fountain National Academy to learn advanced embalming and surgical reconstructive techniques. Richie has taken and passed the National Board Exam, the West Virginia, and Virginia State Board Exams. He is the son of Richard and Brenda Holliday of Ronceverte, WV. Richie has two sons, Alden Andrew Holliday and Lucas Michael Holliday. He has two sons in heaven, James Richard Holliday III and Asher Jameson Holliday.

Richie has earned the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner from the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice Inc. This is noted by the CFSP acronym. Licensed funeral directors must meet or exceed defined criteria annually to continue use of this prestigious designation.

A select few have distinguished themselves among their peers within the funeral service profession as they continue their education to exceed the highest standards of care. This achievement is especially notable because Richie has voluntarily elected to participate in quality educational and service opportunities that far surpass what the funeral service licensing board in West Virginia requires. Richie has committed to a program of lifelong learning to serve you and families in our community with the level of excellence expected of a CFSP.

He is the Past President of the West Virginia Funeral Directors Association - Greenbrier District.

Richie serves as Greenbrier County Commissioner, Board Member for Central Greenbrier Little League, and Ronceverte Raiders Youth Football, and is a member of the Sinks Grove Baptist Church.
